ABC Coordinator


The OUR Education Cooperative is taking resumes for the position of ABC Coordinator.  This position will include travel.  The ABC Coordinator position is a supervisory role that will oversee and coordinate the ABC grant.  This is a 12-month grant-funded position.

Terms of employment:  240-day contract on OUR Education Cooperative ABC Master salary schedule

Start Date:  July 2024


  • Valid Arkansas teaching license

  • Master’s degree in educational leadership preferred

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

  • Must complete required state credentialing requirements (background check, fingerprinting)

  • Experience supporting learners in the science of reading

  • Agree to complete required trainings


  • Write and oversee the ABC grant   

  • Work with Program Specialist to develop the program budget, monitor budget, and turn in required budget reports to the ABC State Coordinator

  • Monitor deposits for “paid” slots on a weekly basis and collect from parents on any delinquent accounts

  • Coordinate with Local Leads Captain

  • Interview, review references and credentials to recommend hiring qualified staff

  • Supervise and evaluate all ABC staff

  • Oversee data in COPA, private tuition, CACFP snack grant

  • Attend all required Coordinator trainings, (ABC, DHS, ADE, OUR)

  • Work with ABC staff to set up registrations to recruit and enroll students

  • Oversee and assist with applications, student placement, and student/staff files for DHS and ABC monitoring

  • Promote ABC program via OUR social media

  • Apply for license and ensure compliance with DHS minimum licensure   

  • Plan staff development for ABC staff

  • Communicate with the principals, superintendents, or contact person with each district on a regular basis to build a relationship and work with them to make sure their needs are met

  • Monitor classrooms and provide guidance with ECERS

  • Ensure implementation of curriculum in classrooms to meet required standards

  • Work with the ECSE coordinator to ensure that screenings are done for the students and that services are provided for those who qualify

  • Demonstrate an understanding of ABC, DHS, ADE, school districts, and OUR policies

Mentoring Program Specialist

The Ozarks Unlimited Resources Education Service Cooperative is now accepting applications for a Mentoring Program Specialist for the 2024-2025 year which begins July 1, 2024.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree 

  • Valid Arkansas Teaching License

  • 5 or more years of recent teaching experience

  • Strong understanding of effective classroom management

  • Technology Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Zoom and social media platforms

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

  • General knowledge of curriculum and effective instructional strategies

  • Knowledge of maintaining a budget

Job Description

The Mentoring Program Specialist will conduct activities as outlined by DESE in the Novice Teacher Support Program for teachers in the first three years of their teaching career. The duties of the position will include the following:

  • Provide training for the Novice teachers

  • Attend training at the local, state, and national level, as needed

  • Maintain records pertaining to the Novice Teacher Support Program

  • Design, coordinate, plan, schedule and present appropriate professional development for Novice Teachers

  • Write the grant for the Novice Teacher Support Program

  • Provide support to District Assigned Novice Teacher Mentors

  • Provide support to Novice Teacher Advisors

  • Provide support to Novice Teachers including fostering relationships between novice teachers and various departments at the co-op

  • Communicate per the co-op mentoring plan with building and district administrators regarding assistance needed by Novice Teachers in their building/district

  • Ensure effectiveness of the Novice Teacher Support Program as defined in the ADE Grant

  • Analyze results of all requested surveys

  • Provide on-site and zoom support for Novice Teachers

  • Assist in maintaining social media platforms and website

  • Support federal Apprenticeship Program including entering data into RAPIDS, the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Database System

  • Plan, attend, and organize recruitment events

  • Contact potential teacher candidates

  • Attend meetings (face-to-face and virtual) and trainings required by Co-op and DESE

  • Coach Novice Teachers as applicable

Local Lead Captain

Job Description:

The Local Lead Captain will oversee the local early childhood efforts in bringing awareness to the community of the benefits of quality birth to five programs. They will serve as the single point of contact for families and community partners and will be involved with planning and participating in community events to highlight early childhood programs. The Local Lead Captain will develop relationships with all early childhood stakeholders to support the goals and vision of the state while accounting for the specific needs within the community. They will also have a willingness to travel throughout the area and to state level meetings. Job description may evolve to include additional responsibilities as the pilot year ends.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (education, community development, etc)

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Thorough understanding of early childhood birth to five years of age

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Establish and facilitate discussion panels and meetings with local Stakeholders about quality Early Childhood services in our communities

  • Create a mechanism to collaboratively create and share a strategic plan for improving Early Childhood services in our communities

  • Develop and distribute through varied methods (social media, newspaper, flyers, radio, community events,) a promotional campaign to bring awareness of the importance of early childhood education in our community

  • Maintain a current community resource database of available Early Childhood services and resources

  • Provide training that will enhance Early Childhood program's ability to provide quality interactions and instruction to children birth to five years of age

  • Create a system to collect and share data among the stakeholders to facilitate improved student outcomes based on measurable results

  • Organize and host family engagement activities and parenting workshops that will educate parents on the importance of quality early childhood interactions and will promote state and local school districts educational initiatives

  • Coordinate communication among service providers to create a more unified and a more efficient referral and service delivery model for children with disabilities

  • Develop a needs assessment survey to be distributed to all community stakeholders including business, school districts, and Early Childhood providers

  • Analyze all date collected to create, with stakeholders, a plan for long term sustainability of quality early childhood services within the community

  • Advocate for initiatives that support Early Childhood programs as they meet the needs of the families in the community that we serve
