Career and Technical Education Coordinators provide supporting resources to enable public and charter schools to initiate and maintain quality CTE programs in accordance with the Arkansas Department of Education, DCTE Policies & Procedures and Federal Requirements and Guidelines. The CTE Coordinator legally binds the district/cooperative regarding the Federal Perkins and State funds and the development, implementation, and improvement of CTE programs for all districts (consortia or single LEA) in the service delivery area.
Each Career and Education (CTE) Coordinator is tasked with the development, implementation, and improvement of Career and Technical Education programs from grades 5-12. In addition the CTE Coordinator shall align and coordinate CTE programming with postsecondary partners, business and industry partners, and other appropriate agencies within their service area. Outlined below are the six specific program functions for the CTE Coordinator.

Engage and assist with Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSO)

Complete Comprehensive Local Needs Application (CLNA) annually
Submit Perkins V Annual Budget
Maintain Perkins records
Complete Grants Management System (GMS) narratives as awarded
Consortia Management
Attend required DCTE meetings
Meet regularly with local partners
Create alignment between Secondary Career Centers and districts
Data Collection & Reporting
Collect Perkins V State Determined Performance Levels
Develop improvement plans for indicators not meeting 90%
Provide completer certificates & seals
Ensure student data for Merit & Distinction are collected
